Nowadays, leading high octane lives, folks hardly ever pause prior to blurting out such statements as ‘my heart is all yours’ rather unceremoniously! So, I thought I’d actually take the time out to probe into my own heart and try to quantify the love I have for those dear to me as neutrally as possible… And I’d wager my wifey would blow a gasket, but we’ve always had these debates on prioritizing people when their needs match, and I feel an answer is long overdue.
Now, one thing my better half and I can whole heartedly agree upon is that our children are our world, which automatically makes them the majority stakeholders of our hearts. And despite their contrasting personality traits, our love is something that they shall always have an equal share of… On that note, it is interesting how our first-born balances his mom’s genuineness and occasional theatrics with my tenacity and perceptiveness, while our second-born simply appears to be my carbon copy, starting from identical blood groups to a savorer with a reserved disposition, but all in all a real He/Him… No fuss no muss! Glad I got to know both my innate mini-mes before nurture gradually takes over nature in the long haul, although I'm sure they’ll always remain a chip off the old block. 😉
Next in line of course, my wifey dearest… I recall speaking about a myriad compatibilities back in the day, but almost a decade into our union, I’d say the one above all else is a compatibility of red lines, while the rest can all fall in place through persistent effort... And there’s one thing we share an undying loathing for i.e. superficiality, especially among prospective members of our heart’s pie-chart. We may or may not be perfect, but as long as we are true to each other, we know we’ve got this! ❤️
